 Using web-based video conferencing technology, we are able to interact in real time with both you and your child, from the comfort of your  home.

Step 1: Free Phone Consultation

All therapy begins with a FREE phone consultation where we will discuss your child and answer any questions you may have surrounding a recent diagnosis.

 

 

Step 2: Evaluation

Evaluations with M.Kids Therapy are simple and easy. We complete evaluations online through free streaming video platform with facilitator administering interactive game (mix of pictures and audio questions).

 

 

Step 3: Online Therapy

A certified therapist is assigned to your child and will develop a personalized therapy plan based on your child’s specific needs. Track progress one-on-one with your therapist and begin to see results.

The Session

After you login, you'll be in the virtual "Waiting Room". When it's your session time, your therapist will open the session and you will see each other on the live video/audio stream. The therapy platform shows you and the therapist in a little box in a corner and the activities taking up most of the screen. The therapist will guide the session by transitioning to appropriate therapy games and activities for your child. Your child may also have the option of controlling the mouse or touch screen when the therapist feels it appropriate.

 

Sessions are live, two-way interactions between the patient and provider.

 

Parent's Role

Ensure the child is logged into their session and can see and hear the therapist. Depending on the child's age and ability, therapy may be conducted independently with the child or with parent supervision. The first few sessions may require parent support.

 

Child's Role

For many children, using technology is highly motivating. There are interactive games, "art" projects, and stories built into the platform that keep it very engaging. It may take some practice to get used to, but we have found that over time, they learn the interaction and look forward to having fun!

 

Teletherapy Platform

Our Online Therapy provides a secure video platform. Your child's therapy sessions include highly interactive apps and games, white board, and screen sharing. These resources allow us to easily assess your child's needs, and to then more effectively conduct therapy sessions. 

 

 

 

We Provide Online Therapy for…

 

1. Receptive expressive language delay: When your child does not have age appropriate use of language skills, early intervention can make a difference to bring them up to par with their peers.

2. Misarticulations: Lack of speech intelligibility and less clarity in speech due to various factors can be treated successfully with therapy sessions.

3. Learning disability: Academic difficulties, reading and writing difficulties can be addressed and effective strategies used to overcome them.

4. Aphasia: Loss of language use after stroke can be treated with the help of an SLP and the impairment can be reduced.

5. Stuttering: Lack of fluency during speech production can treated and techniques use to improve communication.
