Oro motor skills refer to the movement of the muscles of the mouth, jaw, tongue and lips.
Teaching children to move these muscles in the right way help them to swallow, chew and speak correctly.
Children with poor oro motor skills are often difficulty to understand to drool, may be messy eaters and have unclear speech.
Oro motor exercises help in;
a. Increasing the range, power and rate of movements
b. Being the oral movements under control
c. Increases the awareness of oro motor structures
