  • Oro motor skills refer to the movement of the muscles of the mouth, jaw, tongue and lips.

  • Teaching children to move these muscles in the right way help them to swallow, chew and speak correctly.

  • Children with poor oro motor skills are often difficulty to understand to drool, may be messy eaters and have unclear speech.

  • Oro motor exercises help in;

a. Increasing the range, power and rate of movements

b. Being the oral movements under control

c. Increases the awareness of oro motor structures
